Mike Ortiz

Mike Ortiz rejoins the Menkiti Group, serving as a Senior Operations Manager in 2024 after previously working for the company from 2006 to 2012. Mike began his professional journey in the real estate industry when he originally joined Menkiti Group, where he initially served as KW Capital Properties as the official first Market Center Administrator. With Mike’s strong accounting and operations background, he then took on the role of Menkiti Group’s Vice President of Operations & Finance in 2008. In his new 2024 role, Mike will provide a unique perspective and skillset to help tackle and resolve organizational challenges within all departments.

Mike brings over 18 years of progressive experience in operations, information technology, and finance to the team. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth. Mike has a wide-ranging skill set that allows him to provide creative solutions for various challenges throughout any organization.

During Mike’s hiatus from Menkiti Group, he co-founded Air Hospitality, a short-term rental company with 45 properties in the portfolio at the height of their success. In 2019 transitioned to an operations role with Capstone Apartment Partners, the largest privately owned multifamily investment sales brokerage in the country. Mike’s role at Capstone focused on key performance indicators, database management, vendor management, lease administration, and negotiations. In addition, he also served as the Controller for Capstone’s sister company, Catalyst Capital Partners, a real estate development company. Mike administered the day-to-day financial activities, established the company financial system and standards at Catalyst. He has a strong track record of optimizing processes and procedures, ensuring deliverables are met, and solving complex business problems within any position he holds.

With Mike’s significant background and love for information technology, he strives to provide additional value and expertise to any organization he serves. Through his strong commitment to continuous learning and development, he has earned Coursera certificates in Microsoft Power BI and Google Data Analytics. Mike continuously looks to leverage his skills and expertise to help organizations, like Menkiti Group, achieve their objectives and grow their business.

Although a DMV native, Mike relocated with his family in 2012 and currently resides in the suburbs of Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife and three sons. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family, exploring new destinations, creating lasting memories, and is an avid sports fan.
