The Menkiti Group and ReCreative Spaces Announce Pop-Up Gallery, Co-Host Launch Party at Bunker Hill Road Property

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Menkiti Group Real Estate Team and ReCreative Spaces, an organization dedicated to transforming underused and unlikely spaces into active centers filled with visual, performing, and culinary arts, announced its partnership to provide creative and community-oriented programming at 2003 Bunker Hill Road, NE, DC. The formerly vacant office space was recently purchased by the Menkiti Group and has been transformed into a pop-up gallery and art space.

The partnership between the Menkiti Group and ReCreative Spaces will extend through October 14, 2014. Langdon Hample, Director of Menkiti Group Commercial, stated: “The relationship between the Menkiti Group and ReCreative Spaces exemplifies what we are trying to do with our commercial space in the Brookland community. We are providing creative opportunities in an undiscovered corner of the neighborhood, and offering an affordable real estate platform for the creative economy. I hope this sends a message to entrepreneurs and the arts community that we are flexible and creative business partners.”

Tonight, a launch party will take place from 7:00-11:00pm; admission is free. The party will feature an opening reception of Mason Hogue’s SOLO SHOW entitled “Modern Edo: Journey to the Floating World.” The event will also include commissioned work by Juan Pineda and music provided by the ReCreative Spaces resident DJ, David Toxsick Ortiz. Food and beverages will be provided by Nurish Food & Drink and Café Los Suenos, and flower arrangements will be provided by Christina Nontanovan. Brookland-based dance company, Contradiction Dance, will also perform at the event.
