Mixed use | 5,300 retail square feet
The Menkiti Group is currently planning a residential conversion of the property formerly known as Shacks Clothes, which occupied the corner of Mechanic and Main Streets in Downtown Worcester for nearly half a century. Historically known as the Clark Block, the building has served as a home for generations of Worcester businesses since 1855. The redevelopment will create a new apartment community comprised of studios, and one and two bedroom units in the historic structure which will undergo a complete gut rehabilitation. The project will be financed with Federal and State Historic Tax Credits and will seek approval from the NPS for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. In an earlier phase, The Menkiti Group completed an award-winning historic façade rehabilitation along with the interior build-out of a new local branch for Bank of America.
