Our Favorite Brookland Events in June

Spring is coming to a close and summer is right around the corner.  With the close of May,  June is kicking off with some of our favorite events. Take a look and check out what this month has in store for you from Dance Place, Greater Brookland Garden Club, DC housing and (of course) us!

May 29 to June 3

This week and weekend Dance Place is showcasing “Dance Africa DC”, which includes over 20 hours of planned events, both free and paid.

“The 31st annual festival celebrating the dance, music and spirit of the African Diaspora! A week long celebration carrying on the tradition begun by our beloved Baba Chuck Davis (1937-2017). Featuring Mama Sylvia Soumah as Griot, outstanding African dance companies, a master class series, free outdoor activities and our signature African Marketplace, DanceAfrica, DC is guaranteed to inspire, invigorate, educate and entertain.”

June 3 

The Brookland House and Garden Tour is this Sunday. The tour will be open from 12-5pm. Tickets are $15, which includes a tour book and an invitation to the reception afterward that goes from 5-7pm. June 9

10th Annual DC Housing Expo and Home Show

Come visit MG Residential Buyer and Listing agents at The Menkiti Group booth from 10am- 3pm!

June 16

It’s time to kick off one of our biggest summer events of the year,  Brookland Movie Night Under the Stars!
Starting at 7:30pm, families are encouraged to come early and secure their spots on the DCTV lawn. Feel free to bring snacks for the movie, we will provide the popcorn and other treats.

Movie Summary: “Despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead.
